A GSM Event Like Never Before!

A Zoo in Ruins?

This abandoned zoo was original built around 1912 and abandoned in 1966. It has been used in many Hollywood movies and it is still standing today! Here is a list of movies this location has been used for:

The Griffith Park area is full of amazing spots to explore and one that GSM has been wanting to shoot is the Old LA Zoo. The Old LA Zoo is what remains of the original Los Angeles Zoo that was simply left in its place when the zoo animals were moved to the new location. Also, picnic benches were added to some of the old animal areas, and it was adopted into Griffith Park! If you have ever been to Griffith Park before (not the observatory but the merry-go-round and horse areas), then you have been close to the old LA Zoo. Located right off the 5 Freeway, you will want to enter the Griffith Park area (free) and proceed to the parking lot for the merry-go-round. We suggest bringing a bottle of water or Gatorade and maybe a snack. You should be in decent shape as this is about a mile walk. There is a bathroom near the parking lot, not sure is it is open. This will be the very 1st time for GSM doing an event at this historic location!

* Models bring a long t-shirt for covering when you change outfits! Also the cages can be dirty so bring some baby wipes etc.

Cost: Just $40 per photographer plus a $20 tip for the featured models to share (please bring cash!)

Arrive: lets meet at the merry-go-round at 3:30 so park by 3:10 – 3:20. Arrive early so your sure to get a good parking slot nearby! At 4PM will start walking to the location and take our time to ensure nobody gets left behind. Remember to use the restrooms before the walk if you need to. It should only take 20 to 30 mins at the most, so we should start by 5PM. Group should end by 7pm and we can start 1on1s!

Location: 4730 Crystal Springs Dr. Los Angeles, CA 90027 (not the exact address, but you will see signs for the merry-go-round when you get close). We will meet here in front of the merry-go-round and walk the the zoo areas together! (click on an image to enlarge!)
